Rationale

As a rule of thumb, The Bootleg Series, Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes Complete was used as reference for all the songs, both in terms of title and of take numbers. However a number of "issues" were encountered:

• songs that appear as multiple tracks on bootlegs, but as a single track on BS11 (e.g. See You Later Allen Ginsberg )
• songs that appear as a single track on bootlegs, but as multiple tracks on BS11 (e.g. The French Girl as it appears on The Genuine Basement Tapes)

In addition, some songs do not appear in The Bootleg Series, Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes Complete, and details such as title, take number, and other pieces of information where derived - when possible - from Sid Griffin's Million Dollar Bash Revised Edition.
The book, despite a number of errors documented by fans in fora and blogs, has been used as reference for pretty much all decisions made in this project/website so as to ensure consistency - and to avoid damages to my mental health! 😅.
